This is a schedule of projects completed by Michael Heaton Heritage Consultants. The whole website is being refurbished so, for the time being, some of the links highlighted below will not work. They refer to projects completed nearly 10 years ago that we feel no longer reflect our abilities. The more interesting projects will be posted in full on related pages and will be/have been published in the appropriate learned journal. All reports have been deposited with their respective County Sites and Monuments Records. Explanation of the terms used to describe the form of work can be found on the main web page. Full archives will have been deposited with the appropriate local museum and, in microfilm format, with the National Monuments Record at Swindon. Some are still active, however, and, as they are all occasioned by planning applications, we have to preserve the commercial confidence of our clients by not divulging the contents to the world. Please also bear in mind that, because of the finite web space we have, not all illustrations are included in these versions of our reports. Asi 3123 The Crown Hotel, Frome, Somerset Building evaluation in cventre of Frome, indicates that building is pf late Med origiin, but that 'central' hearth in front bar is actually a late gable hearth/stack left marrooned by forward extnsion of building in 18th C. However, uppermost back rooms - that have clearly been used for growing of marijuana or black magic - contain undisturbed 17th C carpentry.

Asi 3184. Sion Road, Bath. Evaluation of domestic extension, revealed evidence of Roman terraces - possibly vineyards - on south-facing slopes overlooking Bath.
Asi 3185. Worston Road, Highbridge, Somerset. Evaluation of residential development.within deeply alluviated landscape. Results suggests that pottery scatters recorded across whole of this area of Somerset during 1950's and 60's are unstratified intrusive material of negligible archaeological value.
Asi 3186. Fuchs Lubricants, Langport, Somerset. Evaluation of historic building group, concludes that buildings spot listed by EH on the basis that they are '18th C and associated with Stuckey and Bagehot' cannot be earlier than 1855 in date and are therefore unlikely to be associated with the aforementioned enterprising gentlemen. Site probably cleared and re-built after rebuiding of Bow Bridge in 1840.
Asi 3187. Exeter Street, Salisbury. Watching brief during laying of new water mains adj. to Cathedral Close. Indicated proximity of Close ditch and wall foundations
Asi 3188. TA Centre Falmouth. Building Record of military site. Amongst utilitarian buildings is a balconied barracks block and a Geodetic Barrel Vault. the latter is a 'Lamella' Hangar of the sort built under licence by The Horsley Co. from Junkers of Germany. This one was erected in 1`939. Uncanny resemblance to the fuselage structure of Wellington Bomber and R101 Airship forces the author to pursue possibility that Junkers got the idea from Barnes Wallis. So far unsuccessful.
